My dad and I after first flying lesson September 1981. The airplane belonged to a family friend, who is a CFI. I flew the airplane back from Rhinebeck NY that day, logging my first hour or so. The picture was taken in front of Nassau Flyers.

I am a pilot for Southwest Airlines, and I fly Boeing 737's around the US. It sure beats working for a living!

Me at work, c. 2000, when I was an F.O.

I grew up in Massapequa NY, on the south shore of Long Island, home of Elliot Easton, Jerry Seinfeld, The Baldwin Brothers, Stray Cats, Dee Snider (of Twisted Sister....GREAT guy, BTW!) and Jessica Hahn!

I first got interested in Pontiacs when I was a kid, and my dad had a '65 LeMans Post Coupe. It had a straight 6 and a Powerglide. Dad currently owns a '99 Pontiac GTP.  My first car was a Sea Foam (light metallic green) 1977 Grand Prix SJ, with every option available, including leaky Hurst Hatch T-Tops and a 4 barrel 400 (185 HP net!). I kept it a few years, and then decided I needed a pickup, so I sold the GP.

Me and my '77 GP, circa 1983......Boy did I need a haircut and shave! Nice air shocks, huh! Wish I still had that car!!!!

My other hobbies include:

Music. I play trombone, baritone and tuba, and guitar, so I can become a rock star, and quit my job! Click HERE to check out my guitar stuff.

Building and flying R/C model aircraft (over 25 years since I started!)

I built this  from plans from a Great Planes Big Stik .40 that I had built for a friend years ago, powered by a Rossi.61 RE w/pipe! It has a built up balsa fuselage and a Wing Mfg. foam core wing, sheeted with 3/32" balsa. The tail surfaces are 3/8" hard balsa to handle the power produced by the Rossi, which is twice as much as the maximum recommended for this model in it's original form. It has no dihedral and all incidences are set at zero. It's covered in Goldberg Ultracote. Goes like a raped ape! Note the cowled engine! This is the 4th one I've built like this........I should make it a kit and sell them!

Here is my latest addition to the R/C fleet. It is a Mountain Models Flashback, powered by a Himax 2025-5300.

BARF'ed CMP Zero

The engine is an RCV 120SP. It is a sleeve valve 4 stroke. It is also geared and the prop turns half the speed of the crank, which allows swinging huge, high pitch props...... The piston moves forward and aft, and the cylinder wall rotates around it.
