A lot of my friends have had cool Pontiacs also....... Adam Albino had a nice '68 GTO, 400 H.O., M-22 4 spd. Steve Mellis had a '71 LeMans Sport, with the GTO nose and hood (LeGoat!), then a '69 GTO convertible, then a '70 GTO convertible. Eric Adams had a nice '70 GP and a '66 Tempest. Scott Mackie had (until this summer!) a '72 GTO, Kevin Lee had a potentially nice '68 Tempest convertible. Joe Cossetti had a nice '67 'bird.
A few other, non Pontiac, cool cars owned by friends are: Andrew Samour (my Brother in Law Extrordinaire!) has a very nice '74 Nova SS that he has had since 1983! It still looks and runs like new! He also has a '94 Corvette and had a '67 Tempest for a while!
Andrew's '74 SS Nova....He still has it! I think the air shocks are gone now!
Kent Smith had a nice '68 Cutlass convertible.
Dave Barile has a bunch of nice "F" bodies, including this awesome '76 Formula. CAr ran high 12's last season with a 455/6X, T-400 combo. Nice job Dave! Check out his web site for a lot more info on his cars!
Nice, sedate, Sunday drive!
NOT! 455's are pretty efficient at turning rubber into smoke!
More proof!
Dave's car on the cover of a High Performance Pontiac Magazine.
Brian Spencer has TWO VERY nice, numbers matching, '71 Trans Ams. If my GTO turns out HALF as nice as Brians TA's, I will be very happy! He turned this car from a basket case to what you see in the following pics! He claims that his was in a lot worse shape than mine is when he started! This car is also a work in progress (aren't they all!). Brian has gone to great lengths to insure that the car is as close to numbers matching as is possible on a driver. Engine is a bone stock, 455 H.O., complete with 068 cam, and 8.4-1, round port heads. He has taken some liberties with the exhaust system, using a true 3" dual setup with an "H" pipe behind the stock Ram Air/H.O. manifolds instead of the restrictive factory setup. The car runs great! Here are a few pics that he was nice enough to let me take and include here. His other TA (pictures coming) is even nicer than this one. Of course it's the other color (Lucerne Blue).
Car is very clean. Love those Honeycombs!
As indicated by it's fully functional "shaker" hood scoop, it is powered by a 455 H.O., which was the only available engine in the T.A. that year!
Clean lines of the early 2nd gen 'birds make them my favorite "F" body's
Car is equipped with an M-22 4spd and 3:42 posi rear.
Formula wheel, tach, full guages and 160 MPH speedo round out the cockpit! Car also has factory air!
The shaker is vacuum operated. Sounds and looks great!
What can I say! Nothing like a Pontiac front end!
